The Naam

Last night we went to eat at a lovely vegetarian restaurant on 4th Avenue called The Naam. It was, as you might expect, slightly hippy-ish in vibe – the main server (elderly, bearded and skinny with a beer belly) looked like he could probably have spent all night telling stories from Glastonbury or Woodstock, all involving copious amounts of drugs and famous people…

The food was great, I had a lovely vegetable curry and lentil dahl; the burgers were also very good (though soy protein never sounds as appetising as, well, beef). They also have live music every night. When we were there it was a guy with a guitar, curled up over a large variety of delay pedals, playing nicely percussive and dreamy background music.

On top of all this, it is open 24 hours a day. So you can drop by for a curry or some breakfast at 4am… Its crazy. I like it.

  1. He would never have done drugs himself though, he was far too pure and clean and his beard was too well-kept. I can only imagine him to have fussed over those who did do such things in a mothering manner, constantly trying to slip wholesome warming soup into their flasks as they were too dazed to notice 🙂 x

  2. Why does that smile look so evil? *horrified* I did not mean to enforce terror upon your blog. Ok, ok…revision. x

  3. You must take me there Tom, I like lentil daals although they do tend to make me fart!

Am emailing over some mince pie shots for you to show Becky
