Thanks to everyone that has sponsored us so far!
Northumbria Water have been extremely generous in donating us the vehicle. It is a 2001 Land Rover Defender 110 TD5, worth around $20,000. We’re custodians of the vehicle for the journey; once we arrive in Mongolia it will be donated to the Children’s Development & Protection Fund.
Durham 4 Wheel Drive have kindly donated their time and labour to help prepare the Land Rover for the expedition, replacing parts as they go along and generally ensuring it is in tip top shape before we leave. It means we’re feeling really confident we can safely make the whole 10,000 mile trip!
Silverline 4×4 gave us some cost price mud tyres and wheels, kindly paid for by Henry Kilvert.
Exmoor Trim donated 2 forward facing fold-up seats to put in the back.
Britpart donated us some Supergaz shock absorbers and 2 sliding windows.
Bearmach donated springs.
Land Rover Orphanage gave us a (Series III) rear door.
High Lift gave us a very smart jack.
They certainly all make the Defender look ready for business – and should be of great help for the 2000+ miles of off road driving we’ll have to undertake when we arrive in Mongolia.
Thanks to all the companies who are helping us support Water Aid, Save The Children or donated to help cover the diesel costs:
Naked Marketing in Norfolk generously donated to help with diesel expenses,
Pearsons (Thetford) Ltd in Norfolk have kindly given us some money towards diesel too,
RPS Group in Bristol have given money to help us support Water Aid,
The Cottage Inn (Bristol) have made substantial donations to Water Aid,
and of course the individuals: Ste Carlisle, Anne Smales, Jenny Gazzard, Greg, Cathy Harle, Wendy Hendrie. Hannie Ronksley and many more (list to be updated soon!)…
